THE 56 TANTRIX TILES |
Tile History Tantrix began in 1988 with the Mind Game. The tiles were made from cardboard and had two colours, red and black, on a yellow base. Since then, tiles have evolved considerably. Today, Tantrix tiles use three different line colours for the Discovery and four colours for the full game set. Over the years, sets with different backgrounds had been published, including marbled and speckled patterns of white, grey and green. |

Tantrix Tile Index The index below shows all 56 tiles of the Tantrix Game Pack. Each tile has its number engraved on the back for easy identification. If you own an earlier version of Tantrix (no numbers) then scroll down to the unnumbered tile index to identify your tiles. A full Tantrix set can be split up into four colour groups: |

The Unnumbered Tile Set Early versions of Tantrix known as the "Classic" and "Tantrix Strategy" used unnumbered tiles. Whenever specific tiles had to be selected for a particular puzzle, the tile pattern had to be compared against a numbered tile index. The index below shows all 56 tiles. The first column is the image of the tile. The second column represents a tile's colour sequence - clockwise around the tile. The third column identifies the tile number of the numbered set, the fourth the corresponding tile of the unnumbered set. As an example, read the first row as follows: Tile number 1 of the numbered set is the same tile as number 37 of the unnumbered set. Its 6-side colour sequence clockwise around the tile is Yellow-Yellow-Blue-Red-Blue-Red or YYBRBR.
