The 2007 Swedish Open was held on 10-11 November, 2007 in Trosa, Sweden. Organized by Lennart Aspelin, Lewis Palmer, and Monica Persson, it was the 4th Swedish Table Championship. Overall it was the 8th Tantrix Table Tournament of 2007. Eight entrants from five different countries took part. The trophy will spend the next year in Great Britain with winner Rick Yagodich.

First of all I want to say thanks for the sponsoring of prizes from Tantrix New Zealand and Tantrix Great Britain.

I think we had a really good time, but unfortunately a few players had to withdraw at the last moment, so there were only eight players in the tournament. We still had a lot of fun and a lot of playing all evening, and it meant that the tournament structure was all-play-all for both days.

Having fewer players also meant that we had time for an official Blitz Table Tournament. The first one ever I think? Someone will have to ask Steven. Anyway, seven minutes per player just like the internet version. I won and Nica was second in the blitz.

The venue was very good and on Saturday evening we all were invited to Nica and Lewis's for dinner. Very generous of them! Afterwards we played a lot of other games.

We hope that next year we can arrange the tournament even better. It would be great to have at least 16 players (two groups), or all-play-all (15 different opponents on two days), which is a very good way to play!
